Nottingham Health Humanities Showcase and Launch, 28 June 2013
Yesterday saw the launch of Nottingham Health Humanities (NHH) at the Centre for Advanced Studies, The University of Nottingham. The event was opened by Professor Alan Ford Prov-Vice Chancellor and NHH Director, Professor Paul Crawford. The showcase incorporated an AHRC-funded workshop on media, film and health. There was an excellent keynote from Danny Wedding (California School of Professional Psychology) and many other speakers/ contributors within and without our university who are working in this new and growing field that is so relevant post-Francis report on Mid-Staffs care failings, not least Jenny Kitzinger (Cardiff University), Ahmed Hankir (Manchester University) and scholars at the University of Nottingham such as Justine Schneider, Victoria Tischler, Stephen Mumford, Christina Lee, Gary Winship, Peter Rutherford, Charley Baker, James Mansell, Richardo Rodrigues, Chris Woodward, Kevin Harvey, Matt Green, Didem Ekici, Jonathan Coope, Theo Stickley and Matt Green. The showcase attracted a range of scholars and community partners.
