CFP: “Social, Emotional, and Community Health—Humanities Interventions”

2024 Health Humanities Consortium Annual Meeting

Creighton University Health Sciences Campus, Phoenix, AZ, US, and virtually

April 10-13, 2024  

For its 2024 conference, the Health Humanities Consortium (HHC) invites submissions that reflect on how the humanities can be mobilized to promote social and emotional health in communities. Inspired by the Surgeon General’s public health advisory on loneliness and social isolation, the theme of this year’s conference acknowledges the central role the humanities must play in developing cultural interventions that support human connection, while maintaining a focus on promoting cultural humility and structural competency in the health professions and greater health justice. As always, all scholarship, methods and approaches to the health and medical humanities are welcome, even if they do not intersect directly with this theme.

Submit your proposal by Monday, Oct. 16.
