Francis Report: Compassion is for Managers Too

Following the dreadful care failures at Mid Staffs Hospital in Stafford UK and the highly critical Francis Report about this, I wanted to flag up a need for health service managers to be compassionate towards their staff. Typically, it is nurses who are framed as needing to be compassionate. In the following lead article in the March edition of Public Servant (pp.10-11), I set out a different agenda for change:
