Manuel Herrero-Puertas
Manuel Herrero-Puertas is Assistant Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University, where he teaches courses on American literature, disability studies, and writing. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, U.S.A. His main research focuses on overlapping discourses of disability and political fantasy, especially in early and nineteenth-century American literature, with a growing interest in the intersections of disability with cultures of childhood and gothic aesthetics. His work has appeared in American Quarterly, ATLANTIS, and Common-Place: The Journal of Early American Life and is forthcoming in the Journal of Literary and Cultural Disability Studies.
