My research focuses on the intersection between language and clinical psychology, including both qualitative and quantitative research approaches.
Currently I am a research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (University of Edinburgh) exploring "the presentation of mental health in media and medical discourses".
I am also the founder of the 'Language and Mind Network' (University of Edinburgh) which aims to bring together individuals with an interest in the intersection of language and psychology, including psychotherapy, clinical psycholgy and the humanities, and thus to encourage dialogue and collaboration.

I am a psychologist (CRP 12/04633) working for the munipality of Colonel Freitas in the Western State of Santa Catarina, where I hold chief responsibility for the psychological support of the city and its satellite communities, through the Health Center.
I am the municipal coordinator for NASF (family healthcare nucleus) and state representative of RAPS (network for psycho-social care).
I have overseen and lead numerous outreach programs for the city and its communities including: PTAB (community program for tabacco addiction); PADA (program for the care of home-bound chronic patients); PPS (program for the prevention of suicide in satellite and isolated communities); PASM (woman´s community healthcare program); PASH (male community healthcare program), among others.
My work has often meant me steering strategic outreach and community health education programs into communities which are distanced from the city, this, often involving partnerships with local religious groups who otheriwse provide support for these communities through the local churches as main point for educational and social counsel.
