Julie has actively facilitated, with colleagues, in the development of a number of arts based learning and teaching resources within nurse education programmes including ‘A different drum’: the development of an arts-based educational resource to facilitate ‘understanding’ and communication within learning disability nursing. Attribution: McGarry, J. & Aubbeluck, A. (In Press) A Different Drum: a UK experience of developing a research based educational resource to facilitate ‘understanding’ in complex care encounters. Nursing Science Quarterly.  Julie is currently taking the overarching theme of this work forward through a number of initiatives.
