International Advisory Board
Dr Ross Prior is the founding editor of the international Journal of Applied Arts and Health and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health. He is a Reader in Arts Professions and Principal Lecturer at The University of Northampton, United Kingdom, where he is also the widening participation and external relations co-ordinator for the School of The Arts. He has held a range of posts both within the profession and education, having taught at all levels of education for many years.
In 2007 he was awarded the distinguished 'Teaching Fellow of The University' for excellence in teaching. Dr Prior was a key figure in the establishment of the first Arts and Health conference at The University of Northampton in 2007 and Inspiring Transformations: Applied Arts and Health Conference in 2009. In 2010 Dr Prior established Act Out – Northampton Graduate Theatre Company to engage creatively in sustainable community outreach activity and to promote better social health and well-being. He has also been closely involved with the Drama in Education and Applied Theatre movements for much of his life, as a researcher, teacher and professional practitioner. He is delighted to join the Advisory Board for the International Health Humanities Network.
