Professor Fu Hua is Deputy-Dean of the School of Public Health and Director of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Fudan University, China. He is also Director of Sub-association of Health Education and Health Promotion in Shanghai Preventive Medicine Association and Vice-director of Sub-associations of NCDs Prevention and Control, Health Education and Health Promotion, Occupational Health in Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. His extensive research has included investigations into healthy and age-friendly cities (funded by World Health Organisation), smoke free workplaces and public places, social determinants of health and health inequity, self-management of chronic diseases and community-based interventions in diabetes and stroke.
Professor Fu has published over 50 research papers since 2000 and is Chief Editor of the following books: Theory and Practice of Health City (People Health Press, Beijing, 2007), Preventive Medicine (People Health Press, Beijing, 2004, new version available late 2012), Modern Theory and Practice of Health Promotion (Fudan University Press, Shanghai 2003), Community Prevention and Care (People Health Press, Beijing, 2000) and Clinical Preventive Medicine (Shanghai Medical University Press, Shanghai 1999).
His current research interests are in urban health, community-based intervention and management of non-communicable diseases, health promotion in the workplace, tobacco control and physical activity promotion.
